Situation and project update

Sorry for the brief silence but both the Fieldbase team and Project Managers (PM’s) have spent the last two days in back to back training sessions including initial health and safety; radio training; sustainability debates; paperwork and food. Not to mention getting up at 6am this morning and completing a 6.30am swim test – essential for all those river crossings, diving opportunities and generally making sure we can bathe in whatever water source is available safely.

As we are off to Basecamp for further jungle training before finally spending Saturday night in the jungle, I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce you to the 13C Expedition’s PM’s.

As you may be able to tell from the photo above, this Expedition is predominantly female led with the PM team being made up of 18 girls and 8 guys. Of these 26 there are also 7 medics who will be split between project sites as PM’s and one will always be stationed at Fieldbase. Whilst the allocations to the nine project phases are still to be determined by the groups one-to-one’s with the management team over the next few days, I will be sending out a few random facts about the team to give you an introduction as to who is leading this Expedition.

For the meantime, the following PDF will give you a sneak peak at the nine projects but more information will be coming over the next few weeks so stay tuned.
