It's all over!

Raleigh Borneo Expedition 12D has now officially closed!

We have spent the last two days at Borneo Paradise hotel, winding down; relaxing and of course getting all of the logs kit cleaned!

The Closing Ceremony was first on the agenda for Endex. This was an official ceremony with project partners, press, and member from the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Sabah, including the Minister present.

The entertainment for the evening was the brilliant and talented Sabah Cultural Troupe, a traditional dance group which performed four dances throughout the evening in stunning costumes. Everyone got involved with the dancing,  and Ndavyah even gave us a great performance on the drums.

We heard speeches from Country Director Mac, and from the Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Sabah, Datuk Peter Pang En Yin and rounded up the evening with the 12D slideshow.

By 10pm tiredness from the last ten weeks was catching up with most people and so it was off to bed, for a hot shower and a nights sleep on a mattress!

Friday consisted of finishing off work with logs- scraping off every last bit of concrete from the shovels and polishing up the saucepans before having a day of relaxation and reviews and preparing for the final party to begin!

A BBQ and disco rounded off the final evening, with every scrap of meat disappearing from the BBQ very quickly - you would think we hadn't been feeding the Venturers! DJ Gerrard played the evening out with his epic tunes, and saw some very very sweaty V's on the dance floor.

Saturday came around all too quickly and it was soon time for emotional goodbyes.

And so it's all over! What an epic summer it has been. To all of 12D, you should be proud of what you have acheived here over the last three months. Don't ever forget it!

 You have all been legends!
