A Final Fundraising Feat!

As you may have seen in some of the pictures on here, Ian (trek leader) has been growing a beard; a beard that has been the topic of almost everyone's conversation at one point or another. Very large and very orange, the most popular discussion so far has been how best to remove it.

After an hour long discussion between PMs at Endex about the many different methods of removal as well as the hundreds of styles the beard could be worn in Ian decided to make use of his facial hair and raise some more money for Raleigh.

And so on Saturday 2nd September a silent auction was held amongst the volunteer staff. The winner could choose any style, and any method of removal. Please bear in mind that this was a very brave task to allow himself in for as the discussions about beard removal included waxing, tweezing and gaffa taping!

Style ideas included a chequer board effect, a very fluffy goatee, sideburns and a handlebar moustache. The winning bid however came from Emma Ashby who kindly decided that she would use a normal shaver to remove the beard.

In total, a whopping RM878, approximately £180 was raised!
This money will go to the Host Contry Venturer fund.

And so I present to you; the Victorian Gentleman:

That's how easy it is everyone! A small idea, a bit of organisation and just look at what you can do; raise a lot of money and have a good time doing it!
So Get Out There!
