Endex Is Here!!

The end of Expedition 11B is finally upon us, and the Field Base staff are packing their things for the last time to meet the venturers and project managers at Borneo Paradise for two days of celebrations before everyone goes their separate ways.

We'll check in for a final update after Endex, but in the meantime here are a few recent snaps that I took while visiting Alpha 8 on Dive Island....

Hi Rhian [ alpha 2 no more ]
So back to base for debrief? Must seem weird to feel its coming to an end! Will put some money on your phone...don't use it all on Anton...and maybe speak before you set off back. I bet the journey home will feel like a doddle compared with going out and we will be there with Ella to meet you. Will have pillows for the van!
lots of love dad xxxxxxxxx

For James Astbury

Hope you had a good time on the island, despite the bad weather which we heard about.

I didn't need to change your NW card - you set it before you left: Malaysia until 16 April and Singapore till 21st. I think it's the account, rather than the card, that you give travel notice, as I didn't need to enter the card details. Anyway, you should be able to check and change it yourself once back in 'civilisation'. If you need reminding of any passwords, etc, let me know.

Enjoy the next couple of days, and no doubt will be in touch and speak soon. Look forward to hearing what you have planned for the next few weeks.

Lots of love, Mum xxx

Wow...where has the time gone? Was it really that long ago we waved you off. As you celebrate the finshing of your project, the children are enjoying their last sun filled day of school before they break up for the Easter holidays. I shall join Jack this afternoon for the school Easter parade and will endeavour to take lots of piccies to show you. The weather here is absolutley glorious but no doubt it will have changed again before the weekend is out. Chris is taking good care of the garden so hopefully there will be no weeds left by the time you arrive home. Sue is remarkably high in spirit considering and dad is talking more now. Your dad nad Paula stayed over Wedneasday night enroute to Ireland and Katie is off to Tenerife on Sunday - all expenses paid - think maybe it should have been Sinom and Debs that got the holiday lol! Lookign forward to my weekend away with our group - shame you will miss it!
Hope you have gained as much from your time away as the people of Borneo have. I am sure they have aprreicaited all the hard work that all of you have put in.

See you at the end of the month

For Hannah Tilley,
Hi Hannie Bean,
Don't know if it is too late to send this so I'll keep it short. Just seen lots of photos of you in the diving phase. You look great! Longing to hear all about it. Enjoy the very last bit of Raleigh. I bet it will be quite an emotional end for you all. Stay happy. Hopefully speak to you from Oz.
Lots and lots of love Mum

To Tim Browning and the Raleigh Borneo Organisers:
I expect you're in full final celebratory/sad to leave mode by now.It must be an amazing feeling and you will have memories to last the rest of your life from this trip.Just wanted to wish you well as you work through all those emotions and to say we're looking forward to an email from base maybe? Also, hope you have a good journey to Cambodia - Charlotte's very excited about your arrival and seems to have all sorts planned- you lucky, lucky thing!Doubtless she'll be of great help to you in trying to reorganise your flights etc. We're hoping to be able to skype you soon after you get there - only trouble is that we'll be in Lpool/Wales & the dongle didn't work when we tried to skype using that before. Maybe we can manage it before we leave on Mon,. I'll email Charlee about it & see if we can fix an appropriate time with her. SOOOO looking forward to seeing you & being able to talk to you virtually face to face!! Till then, all our love and enjoy your final celebs with the friends you've made at Raleigh. Here's a big cheer for what seems to be a wonderful organisation who provide fantastic opportunities for bringing diverse communities together in a way which brings benefit to all! Thank you Raleigh!!
Loads of love to you Tim, speak & see you soon!
