Hallo Matthijs,

Hey Amy (Alpha 5)

Cool that you have done the swap over hope that Alpha 5 will be as fun for you as Alpha 3. Got Elbow this Saturday I can't wait, Ireland are playing in the 6 nations too! Perfect day methinks. We had to take your bro to A + E last night because he split his head open jumping down steps but the true embaressment was getting a question wrong in the quiz! Couple days in bed being lazy on your return? I'll get the DVD's / music sorted.

Hi Jamie

I'm looking forward to you coming home. Hope to hear from you soon. Lots of love. Mum. xxx

Hi Sarah- now Alpha 6!
Mum here. Great to see photos. You all look like your having a fab time. I think you were doing a strange ankle race in one- think we recognised the cleavage! We're making progress with the extension plans, but we wondered if you might like to do the building for us with all the experience you're getting over there? I'm just back from my school "production" It went well but thank God it's all over for another year!
Niamh says you've to try to get in more photos!

Hi GEORGE.
Have seen some of the photos on the blog - it looks pretty good to me.
Hope you continue to have a good time - the people look like they are a good crowd.
Went to a Stranglers concert last night. (Golden Brown, Peaches, No More Heroes etc.) Bit deaf today!
Madeleine's birthday tomorrow so we are off to Wagamama for dinner.
I see your beard is coming on. I start growing mine at Easter as K2 is possibly end of June. I've started running in the mornings as it has become a little cooler.
Looking forward to hearing many stories on your return.
Love Dad. xxxx

Hi Haz - I woke up today One Year older! Wiser… We’ll have to wait and see!
A lovely bunch of flowers (Dandini) from your Bro. He is off to see your Uncle Ash today in the windy city. Ed is off to the club. He has quite a lot of work this week – and off to report on another match at the weekend. I had Parent Chats last night – got a bit side tracked chatting to one of my Malaysian Mums.
Love all the pics – it all looks such fun. How’s the building work coming on? Can you walk across that bridge?
By the way we haven’t seen a picture of the shoe rack!
Off to work . Chat soon – I’ll tell you about my special day. I probably won’t have a cake like you. Take Care All My love MuM xxxxxxxxxxXXXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxx

Hi Matthijs,

3200gram.

Heb even je foto's bekeken.

Geniet!!!!
Liefs Keke

Hi Jamie. It was fantastic to receive your letter today and to hear what you have been enjoying. Eating local ice cream - hope it doesn't have the same effect as Indian icecream! Josh was hoping to hear from you too and hear about all the killer fish, malaria ridden bugs and anything else that I might perceive as having the potential to kill or maime. He misses you and your energy. How does the noodle bar compare with the one in Loboro? The locals sound like a lovely crowd having made you really welcome, Josh is fascinated by Selat - the martial art you have learned, you will have to give him lessons when you get home.I am looking forward to you teaching me some new receipes, especially the salsa.I will write a letter this weekend - number 4 to keep you up to date. Keep enjoying your self. Love you lots. love mum.xxx

Nikolai,
Hope you are having fun in Borneo, it looks really exciting and can't wait to here more about it. London is great, and the grandparents are leaving tonight. I'm going out tomorrow but not to the skate park! Doing well in school, full marks in German test and 14/16 in Classics essay. Sport is good but tiring. Lost 4-1 last weekend to Churchers, the county champions. I had a run in with their best player, an England international.

Hi Amy E,

Hope all's well. Your dad forwarded your email from KK - glad you're enjoying yourself. Good photo of you and the seaweed - am trying to figure out why you were packing it!

It seems that spring might be around the corner here. The sap buckets are on the maple trees and the sugar houses are busy making maple syrup. We are going to Cape Cod for a few days - to see friends and walk on the beach. It will be colder than Borneo but we hope to see some migrating birds - another sign of spring.

Good luck with your next project - lots of trecking we understand - you'll be fit when you return home if nothing else!!

Lots of love,
Susan and Dean

I spent ages last night writing you a blog......and then lost it! So here we go again.
I love seeing the photos and looking at what you are all doing. Its great.
Got to tell you that Mums doing well with Razzlesailing – currently about 19000. Si’s leading our group in 8000 something. Got about 6000 miles to go on this leg.
LCFC lost on Wednesday so the unbeaten run came to an end on the 24th game. Oh well…. Still top by nine points so doing OK.
I’ll write a letter again this weekend with all of the news in detail but just wanted to say 'hello'.
Take care and have fun. Love Dad.

We are watching comic relief, so sad, no prizes for guessing that I cried. The time is going very quickly thank goodness, but don't want it to be over too quickly for you. Hi Graham
I feel that I have neglected my letter writing to you - please know you are always in my thoughts. It has been a busy week. The things from Bj arrived Tuesday, and we have found a place for most of them. Rosa ended up with a lot of spare kitchen items, which made her very happy. Wednesday night we went to the races and I won 4/5 races, coming out a couple hundred honkies ahead. Thurs I went on a long trek - not to be compared with what you are doing, i'm sure - with a group of women in their 30's. v happy i was able to keep pace as it was a lot of up and down. Dad and i have been walking bowen road. last night was beautifully clear, so a real treat to be out. right now he is in the office working on a new computer system, but hopes to be out soon as it is a fabulous day. was speaking mandarin with the guard downstairs - he understood me !!!- and found out the apt next door is empty. Perhaps the owner will sell and we can combine the two
we haven't received any mail from you - did you mail it to hk?
love you lots, mom

Hey toes,
Well I've come into work on a saturday to try and get some stuff done in the quiet but the computer network is all done, so currently sat here twiddling my thumbs waiting for someone to come in and fix them!Internet still working so thought that I'd waste my time with something worthwhile and write you a mesage!! Red nose day yesterday so we all dressed in red at work and ate red fairy cakes all day. Went to the cobbett after work with claire and katie, where one drink turned into a couple of bottles of wine, then a trip to the chippy on the way back to katie's with another bottle to accompany our chips and red nose day viewing - it had been a long week!!!Work is turning a bit into my home, I seem to be leaving stuff in every room and every spare desk possible at the mo, sppose i should try tidy some of that up while i've got the time!
Anyhoo, hope you're still having a fantastic time - i'm feeling v left out at the mo with you there and al in ny - it must be my turn to go away again soon!!

Hey Huub,

Mam

Hi Sarah(alpha 6)
Mum here again. Thanks for your letter -its so good to hear from you. Glad all's going well. Hope you see some orangutans soon! Bumped into Chris DeLima- he said Sophie's postcard had arrived.Last night was the annual St Patrick's dance- went a bit grudgingly and ended up having a good time. Fr Danny was there so we did several dances together but both of us think Scottish dancing's more fun- he was asking after you, as was Jenny Julian, who said they'd had a postcard too! You've been busy. Niamh said the dance wasn't the same without you- she's missing you a lot.Had a coffee in Belgique - they were asking after you too. Naveed (sporting a wee goatee!) served us- gave us a free pain au raisin- bless!
Take care- hope the adventure phase is as much fun!

hope your still having fun. London is good at the moment except for school which is very hard work. Went out on friday night as you know to a party, was really good. The only problem was hockey the next morning! We ended up losing, and numerous players were ill!
Have got dofe next weekend, am really looking forward to it, should be quite easy and am in a good group.
Everyone is missing you and can't wait to see you again.
Love Maksim.

NIKOLAI,
How are things going out there? I had a good weekend, went out on friday and saturday because i didn't go rowing. It was apparently too windy, but today turned out to be really sunny. Went to the gym and cycled for an hour, covering 25km (thats further than you have to walk in a day). Gregory is practicing the foghorn for his concert, he also had a wild weekend; went to a zapzone party on friday, went skiing and then to a friends on saturday and covered himself in mud digging up the garden today (sunday). I also joined deviantart, you can see my page if you search for my name there.
Not going to school tomorrow, maths lectures instead so i get a lie in.

Hope your having a good time

Love from Alexei

Hi Lottie (Briody).

Tom started school today and mum started her new job. I spoke to them today and it went well for both of them. Mum is having a hard time holding her tongue though as she has a lot less involvement than she's used to!

Tom's school is the same one they used to film Summer Heights High - did you ever watch any of them?

Mum is stil waiting to hear back from a house she found last week that she really loves. Hopefully we'll know tomorrow. She has to leave the hospital flat in just over a week.

Did you know Tom has to wear a uniform? He was not too thrilled. Not sure if mum filled you in about his school situation in a letter but basically they have put hm forward a year based on his GCSE results so in theory he could finish school in November!

He then wants to do Raleigh too. Not sure if he'll be old enough or really up to it. We'll see. If he struggles at school there's the option to go back to the first year.

We have another person for the room rental. He is moving into your room next Sunday. I'll have to move back to my original room again.

Had to work all weekend which is good financially but difficult trying to get jobs done at home. I had to fit a new lock to the front door over the weekend as the old one has now completely gone.

You'll be pleased to hear I'm storing up your TV programmes for you so you can overdose on Grey's etc when we eventually meet up.

Mum and Tom are still really liking the place and Tom even said he wouldn't come back if he had the option. I think the waether out there varies a lot at the moment between 30 degree heat and rain - mum keeps wearing the wrong stuff :-)

Well that's all for now, hope the jungle wasn't too much of an ordeal.

Love, Dad

Hi Emily H, hope you are enjoying Alpha 3 as much as you did the first Phase. Was great to get your email and postcard, everyone is asking how you are doing, at Picks and home, around the Village. Your news beats ours - I'm just saying hello as Robin and Alison beat me with the minor news items. Busy Monday, as usual, just coming to an end - missed you at Aerobics. Picks Factor is planned for the end of May together with Sports Day cum Village Fete so you've that to look forward to (?!?). Am just finishing a letter to post tomorrow so will say good night now, BIG hugs from Mum and all xxxxxxx.

Hallo Pieter-Bas,

Hi Graham
We had an amazingly lovely day on Saturday - sunny, cool, breezy, low humidity - and we were in HK! We headed out to the New Territories and hiked along the coastline, fabulous views. Sunday we had a shorter walk on HK Island as dad had to head up to Korea for a couple days. He is back tonight. In the meantime, I am still trying to get my life started down here. When dad is here, we have a lot to do in the evenings; now I need to sort out my days. Gigi emailed that the Baltimore Opera Co is no more; they had filed for bankruptcy protection to reorganize, but to no avail. Several smaller groups are popping up. Did you know that Grace got a buzz cut? Ellie gave her $20 to do it. Peter B is having his first picnic of the year same Sunday as day 3 of the 7s. Which would you pick??? Love you and miss you,
Mom

HRH!! Raz-bag!! Heyyy, tis the Jen, Ed's in the bath so i thought I'd quickly write to you as it had been a while or three. Hows it all going? The photos of change over look rather fab and the ones of you giving out football cards. very ray mears. Been working up at the club a fair amount, last week was flipping windy, you would have cleaned up in club race!! Really sunny at the moment, so the jealousy of you being away is wearing off slightly, but not much! Apart from that theres not to much news to report from old blighty! Si's in texas (mexico) and you're over there so its ever so quiet!! Hope all is going amazingly, see you sooon! lots of love! xxxx

Hi Graham - OH HAPPY DAY! WE finally received your letter, I think the second one you wrote but the only one we have received. We too are missing the Duke of P, but look forward to dancing the night away when you get back. In the meantime, we are off to the races again tonight. Dad got back late from Korea last night, so we are both a little weary, but hope to be as lucky as last week.
Carl's picture is on the wall; haven't hung up much else, but the apt does seem homier now. not much else new. we love you and look forward to seeing you in a month,
Mom

Hey Emilie,

Hoe was Edinborough? Hele veel plezier daar en geniet ervan!

Lieve Matthijs,
liefs Pien

Hello Elizabeth,
You look very happy in the photos, loved them. Wrote you a long letter yesterday. You can chnage you ticket but it will cost about 200 pounds and then a rebooking fee. You have to do it from your end...so it's up to you. We all send our love, we've had more snow and it's March, everyone is very frustrated! LOVE YOU.

Love Omie
